2020 FALL MATH COURSES

2020-2021 Fall Semester courses will start on Monday, September 14th. Most  courses will meet once during weekdays (Monday-Friday). Lessons will be live, online, and 75 minute long. Grade level competition courses will have additional weekend practices. Students should have a computer with reliable internet access. All courses except Pre-Competition and SAT will have bi-weekly competition practices on Saturdays.

PRE-COMPETITION MATH

Recommended for 2nd grade students. Using the Beast Academy Online 3rd grade curriculum as the base, the course will strengthen the foundation of students. Emphasis will be given to arithmetic fluency.

ELEMENTARY COMPETITION MATH LEVEL 3

Intended for 3rd grade students with little to no competition experience. Using the Beast Academy Online 5th grade curriculum as the base, the course will strengthen the foundation of students. Number Sense and Sprint Style questions will be introduced.

ELEMENTARY COMPETITION MATH LEVEL 4

Intended for 4th grade students with some competition experience. The earlier topics of AOPS Pre-Algebra book, will be main curriculum. Harder Sprint Round style questions as well as Target Round style questions will be practiced.

ELEMENTARY COMPETITION MATH LEVEL 5

Intended 5th grade students with significant drive and competition experience. The later topics of AOPS Pre-Algebra book, such as Arithmetic Properties, Exponents, Fractions and Expressions will be the main focus. Increased focus on Target Round style questions.

MIDDLE SCHOOL COMPETITION MATH LEVEL 6

Intended for 6th grade students planning to compete in MATHCOUNTS, Mathleague, AMC 8  and other middle school competitions. The course will focus on common question types and competition styles. New topics and ideas will be introduced through school or chapter level questions.

MIDDLE SCHOOL COMPETITION MATH LEVEL 7

Intended for 7th grade students competing in MATHCOUNTS, Mathleague, AMC 8/10  and other middle or high school competitions. The course will focus on common question types and competition styles. New topics and ideas will be introduced through chapter and state level questions.

MIDDLE SCHOOL COMPETITION MATH LEVEL 8

Intended for 8th grade students competing in MATHCOUNTS, Mathleague, AMC 8/10  and other middle or high school competitions. The course will focus on common question types and competition styles. New topics and ideas will be introduced through chapter, state or national level questions. Increased emphasis on on AMC 10 and other high school competitions

COMPETITION ALGEBRA

This course is intended for 7th and 8th grade students planning to compete at FAMAT Algebra competitions

COMPETITION GEOMETRY

This course is intended for 7th and 8th grade students planning to compete at FAMAT Geometry competitions

NUMBER THEORY

The course is intended to teach Number Theory topics to students who are serious about math competitions, such as MATHCOUNTS, Mathleague, AMC 8/10. The course will use AOPS Number Theory text book, and should help with SAT/ACT as well.

COUNTING & PROBABILITY

The course is intended to teach Counting & Probability topics to students who are serious about math competitions , such as MATHCOUNTS, Mathleague, AMC 8/10. The course will use AOPS Counting & Probability text book, and should help with SAT/ACT as well.

AMC 10

This course is intended for 7th - 10th grade students planning to compete at AMC 10.

SAT MATH

Intended for advanced level 8th - 10th grade students who would like to get perfect or near perfect SAT Math scores
